Wrensong Concert Jan.13, 2019 at 2:30 PM

The theme of the program is “Longing, Happiness and Regret,” explored in music about places, love, and the spirit. We sing songs of desire for Innsbruck, California, and Jerusalem, of happiness in spring groves and heavenly chariots, and of regret for youthful offenses and surrendered loves. Music has to power to distill and intensify feelings, and we draw on composers from Josquin to Motown to unleash this power on these three fundamental emotions.

Wrensong is a group of accomplished singers drawn from Vermont and New Hampshire’s Upper Valley communities.  We are devoted to presenting the best in small group choral music, with a particular focus on the vocal treasures of the Renaissance.  Wrensong’s repertoire ranges from the secular to the religious, and our concerts often include narration aimed at giving audiences a context for listening with understanding.  Wrensong has performed in many venues around Vermont and New Hampshire, including concerts and devotionals at the Vermont State House, and in services at Harvard’s Memorial Church.
