January and February Plan for Youth and Junior Youth

January 4th: Savor last moments of holiday break!  Also an excellent day to come to the service, thanks JT and IB!

January 11th: JUNIOR YOUTH at 9:30 AM!  with Sparrow: Witness and Nonviolent Protest.  From the malleability of eyewitness memory to the power of one man at Tiananmen Square, we’re talking about seeing the truth – and making the truth visible.

January 18th: JUNIOR YOUTH at 9:30 AM!  with Sparrow: Witnessing words.  This week it’s auditory memory and memorable words.  Speak truth to power, kids; this is what we do.

January 24th: JUNIOR YOUTH from 5PM to 8PM Games Night!  Come to the Schmidts’ home for frivolity!  Email education@uucuv.org for directions.

January 25th: YOUTH and JUNIOR YOUTH at 11:00!  with Claudia: Nurturing the Spirit.  Thoughtful personal choices can have global impact – let’s make it count!

January 25th:  YOUTH and JUNIOR YOUTH at 12:30!  Meeting with Jenny to plan the February Hospitality Team.  Bring your laptops so we can share a Google document.  Bring total knowledge of your family’s February schedule!  Parents, make sure your kid knows the February Sunday schedule!  Lunch will be served (mac and cheese of doom and Jenny’s bringing a dessertish thing!).  Gathering should go from 12:30 to 1:30 – gabbing will probably continue until 2 for those who want to stay and bond and be awesome!  (what an excellent day for parents to go out to lunch together, she mused).

ALL SUNDAYS IN FEBRUARY – the YOUTH and JUNIOR YOUTH are the Hospitality Team!

February 1 and 8 during the 9:30 service, we’ll be editing The Cookbook for sale.  We will be naming The Cookbook.  Again, bring your laptop.  We plan to sell The Cookbook beginning in March!

February 15 YOUTH are invited to Artist’s Date, 12:30.  Part of The Artist’s Way program, everyone can participate.  It’s quiet time set aside for you to work with clay, beads, colors, your own media.  Just be.  Just create.  This is powerful self-loving work.

Summer Childcare:  Child care will be available this summer during the 10 AM services; our Child Care Providers are Isabelle Brawley, Jenny Tolman, and Emma Cudney. Children will begin the service with parents at 10AM until they collect food for the Haven, then exit with the Child Care Provider on duty.  Children should please have name tags and their own sun/bug stuff!  Children using diapers should be clean and dry, the CCPs will not change diapers.  The CCPs will take kids out whenever the weather permits and kids will water the Children’s Garden and play until 11:10.  Please come in play clothes that can get wet!  Parents, please retrieve your children by 11:10; you have full responsibility for them at that time.
