November 29 and 30 will mark the 28th Annual Pods for the Pulpit Crafts Fair, a
major fundraising event put on by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the
Upper Valley in Norwich, VT. In the early days of the fair, members of the
congregation made milkweed pod Christmas ornaments to sell at the fair; hence the
name.

We strive to have crafters who are at a level of expertise such as those juried by the
League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. We typically have around thirty vendors.
Some of the high-quality crafts that have been included are hand-painted
floorcloths, photography, woodblock prints, felting, pottery, gourd ornaments, elf
slippers, jewelry, ceramics, gemstones, quilts, weaving, wood, Ukrainian eggs, soft
sculpture, notecards and calendars, custom cribbage boards, colored etchings, wool
rugs, and acrylic paintings on board.

The fair is held the weekend after Thanksgiving at Tracy Hall on Main Street in
Norwich, Vermont. Hours are 10AM-4PM on Friday, November 29 and 10AM-
3PM on Saturday, November 30. Our team of enthusiastic volunteers from the
UUCUV will provide a healthy lunch for you on both days at no cost and coffee,
tea, cider and snacks throughout the day. There will be volunteers to booth-sit for
you so you can take a break. We try to make this a relaxed, fun event for our
crafters, many of whom have been with us for years.

Revenue comes from booth fees, commissions and raffle tickets for a colored
woodblock print donated by Lyme artist Matt Brown. There is no admission
fee, but attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase raffle tickets.
The booth fee is $150 per crafter and the commission we request is 10% of your
sales over $1,000. ALL funds raised are donated to The Upper Valley Haven.

participating this year’s event.
